Professional Speaking and Fees
Growing up in A World of Mixed-up Letters and Numbers (Adults, Teachers and Librarians)
I share my journey from a shy dyslexic child to author/illustrator/publisher and all stops in between. I explain what it was
like growing up as a dyslexic child and the impact it has had on my life. I share memories of kindergarten through college
and even today. “As a child with dyslexia, I had no idea what the teachers were talking about when they tried to
get me to read. Those symbols called letters held no meaning for me. I felt stupid and ashamed. When my son was diagnosed
as dyslexic, I vowed to make learning easier for him.” Perfect for school and public library presentations. (1

How to Write, Illustrate and Publish your own
book I share my recipe for frustration, confusion, disappointment, and success, and give helpful tips on how it’s
done. (1 hour plus questions)
Workshops for Teachers and Librarians
I am happy to add workshops for librarians or teachers to my visit.
Arrangements:
I can offer up to five presentations during the school day, but I suggest that you limit the numbers for each session to 15-25
children, a relaxing atmosphere works best for an interactive session. A ten minute break after each two sessions is
necessary. Water should be supplied for each session. I am happy to sign books during the day or after school. Books
can be ordered from Abernathy House Publishing when the contract is accepted.
Fees:
Please call to discuss Fees, they may be negotiable.
$600 per school day in Maine (plus
expenses beyond 50 miles). Schools in the same town can join for a day presentation, not to exceed five sessions.
$800 per school day (plus expenses) New England.

$1200 per day, conference speaking (plus expenses) add $250 for Keynote.
